Aeon Mark Installation

Aeon Mark, one of the displaced Leyland Mark Lodges, held its Installation ceremony at Chorley Masonic Hall, by dispensation, on Thursday night the 6th October.
David Robinson, Special Rep, David Rotherham, Terry Ward, Alan Fairhurst & Arthur Walmsley

The brethren on the Lodge assembled and the meeting was opened by the Master, W. Bro. Arthur Walmsley who went on to welcome our principal guest W. Bro. Alan Fairhurst,  P.A.G.D.C., representing the R. W. Bro. Keith Alan Beardmore, Provincial Grand Master.

Those present stood in silence in memory of H M Queen Elizabeth II.

The business of the Lodge was soon discharged and in no time at all, Arthur was inviting Henry Mayor to be Installing Senior Warden, myself to be Installing Junior Warden and David Blenkinship to be Installing Inner Guard.

The Master Elect, Bro. Terry Ward, was presented by the Director of Ceremonies, W. Bro. Jim Hustler. Terry was soon giving his assent and taking his obligation as Master Elect.

Those below the rank of Installed Master retired and Arthur Installed Terry in a very sincere and delightful manner according to our customs.

The brethren were readmitted, officers appointed and the addresses to the Master, Wardens, Overseer’s and brethren delivered  by, myself, David Winder, Bill Bruce and Alan Fairhurst, respectively.

The Lodge was closed and there was just enough time for a quick photograph to go with this report before we went to a festive board of cheesy garlic mushrooms, roast chicken and crème caramel very delightfully supplied and served by the catering staff at Chorley.

A raffle raised just over £100 and will go some way to replenishing the charity funds following a donation of £500 made during the Installation ceremony in favour of the West Lancashire Mark Charities.

By 9.30pm we were tipping out into the fresh night air on our way home.

Another delightful night in Aeon Mark masonry.
